Here we have another masterpiece from the grand fathers of viking Metal. It sounds very similar to the album 'Blood Fire Death' with heavy guitar riffs mixed with heroic texts and the very rough voice of singer quorthon. This album tries to show us how the vikings lived and died.
The Songs 'Shores in Flames' and 'One Rode to Asa Bay' create a very dense atmosphere filled with background effects like trampling horses. The First song is about the time when the vikings set sail to plunder and don't know if they will come back. The second song mentioned above is about the ride to Asa Bay where the gods are living according to nordic legends!
